Sous Chef

Hi, I’m Chris! I’ve been with Hops since 2020 and Sous Chef since 2024. What I love most about my role here is the satisfaction and joy that comes from creating delicious dishes. I cherish the opportunity to share food that evokes a sense of nostalgia from my childhood, and I feel incredibly grateful to work alongside a team that feels like family. 

Born and raised in Holland, MI, I come from a family with deep roots in Mexico. As a father of two sons and a daughter, I draw inspiration from my children, who motivate me to strive for excellence in every aspect of my life. Life has presented its challenges, but those experiences only fuel my passion to grow and improve. My parents have instilled in me the importance of sharing my best qualities, whether it’s through helping those around me or excelling at what I love to do. 

In my free time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my kids, tackling typical dad tasks, working on cars, and taking on handyman projects around the house. I also love watching movies, listening to loud music, attending concerts, and enjoying meals out or socializing with friends over a drink. And, of course, there's nothing quite like relaxing in a warm, comfy bed!
